pastor-lois-photoPastor Lois started ministering with us in December 2015. She is passionate about parish ministry and international affairs.  Pastor Lois graduated with honors from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2009 and was ordained by the National Capital Presbytery on August 8, 2010 at Fairfax Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, VA.  She previously served the United Presbyterian Church in Willow Lake, SD. Pastor Lois was a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State from 1984 to 2007. She is a published historian who received her Ph.D. in Middle Eastern and Islamic history from The University of Michigan.  Pastor Lois received her B.A. in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.  She also studied at the American University of Beirut and the American University in Cairo.  Pastor Lois graduated from the National Defense University (Fort McNair, Washington ,D.C.) in 2002 with an M.S. in National Security Strategy.  In May 2016, she traveled to Iraqi Kurdistan with the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship.  In February 2017, she engaged in a service project at the Mungere School in rural Tanzania.
